Hello I'm Janet, welcome to my shop! Proud small business owner of Orsay Oban since its creation in 2005 - celebrating our 21st anniversary this year!

The shop remains an independent gift shop in the beautiful coastal town of Oban on the west of Scotland, famous for McCaig's tower, glorious sunsets & of course, Oban whisky! 

I started in 2005 due to my love of quality gifts made in Scotland & from around the UK all within a reasonable price range.  Following my love of everything handcrafted, Orsay Oban stocks almost 100 British designers and I liaise with them on a one-to-one basis.  My passion for quality craftsmanship means I love searching the nooks and crannies of Scotland and cover the lengths and breadths of the UK so, even after all these years, I can stick to our original ethos of flying the flag for Scottish & British designers, craftspeople and small companies.

Delighted that Orsay Oban was nominated as a finalist in The Great Gift Retailer of the Year, twice (!) in 2009 & 2019 Scotland, the equivalent of the Oscars for gift shops!

Orsay Oban is very much a bricks and mortar shop in Oban town centre, just one door down from George Street, the main street through town. As a local would say, "at the second set of traffic lights take a left and you're there."
